When enhancement helps most

Enhancement works best on photos that are a little soft, not ones that are completely out of focus. Old scans, photocopies, and JPEGs from email are good places to start.

Restore and colorize first if you need to

If the print is damaged, restore it first. Add color if the photo is black and white, then enhance for a final polish. That order usually gives the cleanest results.
